How invoicing without a company works

Invoicing without a company means creating and sending the invoice through an employer instead of starting your own business. You do the work, create the invoice in Pay2me and send it to your client through the platform. The invoice is legally issued in Pay2me AB's name. Pay2me carries the employer responsibility and handles VAT, employer contributions, preliminary tax and payroll administration. Once the client has paid, the remaining amount is paid to you as salary.

  1. Step by step

Create a free account, register the assignment, create the invoice and send it to your client through Pay2me. The invoice is issued in Pay2me AB's name. When the client pays, Pay2me handles the administration fee, employer contributions and preliminary tax and pays the resulting salary to you.

  2. What does it cost?

The account is free. Pay2me's administration fee is charged only when your client pays the invoice, and only on the amount actually paid excluding VAT. The fee is 5.95% up to SEK 35,000, 3.95% between SEK 35,000 and SEK 100,000, and 1.95% above SEK 100,000. There are no setup or monthly fees.

  3. Tax, VAT and tax returns

Pay2me normally withholds 30% preliminary tax from your gross salary. You can choose a higher withholding rate yourself in your Pay2me account. A lower withholding rate can only be applied after Pay2me has received and registered an official tax adjustment decision (jämkningsbesked) from the Swedish Tax Agency. Pay2me also pays employer contributions and reports VAT to the Swedish Tax Agency.

  4. When do you get paid?

You receive your salary the same day your client pays the invoice – no waiting for a monthly payroll run.

  5. Is it legal?

Yes. You are employed per assignment by an umbrella company that holds an F-tax certificate and acts as your employer. The income is ordinary salary and counts towards both pension and sickness benefits.

About Pay2me

About Pay2me

Pay2me is a Swedish umbrella employment company for those who want to get paid for their work without having to start and administer their own business.

The service was launched in 2018 with the ambition of making it easier for people to work on their own terms – whether it's a single assignment, a side venture, or a more established freelance career. Since then, thousands of people have chosen Pay2me to invoice their assignments and receive payment as salary.

Our role is greater than just sending an invoice. When you perform an assignment as an umbrella employee through Pay2me, we are your employer during the assignment. You create and send the invoice through Pay2me. The invoice is issued in Pay2me AB's name. We handle VAT, employer contributions, tax deductions, payroll administration, and reporting to authorities. Once the customer has paid the invoice, you receive your payment as a salary.

From the outset, we have placed great importance on the service being easy to understand and easy to use. That's why we have built a digital platform where you can quickly create invoices, manage expenses, use different VAT rates, ROT and RUT, co-invoice with others, and track your invoices and salaries – all while having real people to contact when you need help.

For us, good umbrella employment is about simplicity, clarity, and responsibility. We want you to understand what the service costs, what Pay2me is responsible for, and what happens to the money from when you send the invoice until the salary is in your account.

You should be able to focus on the work you're good at. We'll take care of what happens behind the invoice.
